The Report Card Challenge
Report card generation is one of the most time-consuming tasks in any school. For CBSE and ICSE schools, it's even more complex due to board-specific grading systems, co-scholastic areas, and formatting requirements.
CBSE Report Card Requirements
- Scholastic Areas: Subject-wise marks with 5-point grading scale (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D, E)
- Co-Scholastic Areas: Art Education, Health & Physical Education (graded A/B/C)
- Discipline: Graded separately
- Internal Assessment: Periodic tests, notebook submission, subject enrichment, portfolio
- Term-wise breakdown: Term 1 and Term 2 marks with combined result
ICSE Report Card Requirements
- Marks-based: Percentage system (not grades)
- Internal + External: 20% internal assessment + 80% board exam
- Supernumerary subjects: Additional subjects counted separately
- Best of five: Automatic calculation for aggregate
How Automation Helps
One-Click Generation
Once marks are entered, report cards for an entire class are generated in seconds — properly formatted, with school branding, principal's digital signature, and QR code for verification.
Grade Calculation
No manual grade lookup tables. The system auto-converts marks to grades based on board-specific criteria. CBSE 9-point scale and ICSE percentage — both handled automatically.
Rank Calculation
Class rank, section rank, and subject toppers are calculated automatically. Schools can choose to show or hide rank based on policy.
Parent Access
Digital report cards available on the parent app immediately after publishing. No more waiting for physical distribution day. Parents can track progress across terms.
"What used to take our 8 teachers two full weekends — entering marks, calculating grades, printing report cards — now takes one teacher 2 hours." — CBSE school coordinator
